New sticker packs added every month — bring more of the world to your chats

Our Story

MojiMix is a Houston digital sticker startup putting the icons of world cultures into everyday messaging, built by a team spread across four continents.

What is Mojimix?

“MojiMix” is a fresh, innovative Digital Sticker Startup spearheaded by Mohammed A. Ahmed. Originally from Hyderabad, India, and now based in Houston, TX, his mission is to infuse global cultural icons into our everyday lives through merchandise and messaging. The app was developed in collaboration with the London-based Inspiral Design Ltd., and San Francisco-based SitePen, Inc. Mojimix is the culmination of the collaborative efforts of these teams. Their commitment to celebrating diversity and fostering worldwide mutual understanding lies at the heart of their work.

About Us

Mojimix, underpinned by a team hailing from diverse corners of the world — the U.S., U.K., India, Gulf countries, Spain, Malaysia, Germany, Romania, Nigeria, Russia, and beyond — is fueled by a shared zeal for travel and world cultures.

In an era where web technology swiftly connects us with loved ones globally, the vast spectrum of human cultures appears to be distilled down to a mere few icons. We believe in the importance of keeping cultural diversity alive and using it as a bridge to overcome barriers, fostering understanding and appreciation amongst us all.

Over the years, we have been meticulously researching icons that encapsulate a wider range of human experiences. The result is an initial panorama of human cultures, a panorama that we hope to expand with your help.

Our Story

“Mojimix” is an innovative startup venture that brings the iconic imagery of world cultures right to your fingertips. Our application enhances your messaging experience by infusing it with stickers that reflect global diversity, all accessible with a simple screen tap.

This platform presents a unique and exciting way to delve into world cultures and share them with your friends. Whether you are familiar with the imagery or are seeing it for the first time, our website offers informative posts to acquaint you with each image. Our extensive collection spans across South Asian, Native American, African, Australasian, Far Eastern, and European traditions, presenting imagery that connects us in both novel and familiar ways.

Our vision for Mojimix is continued growth and evolution into a valuable tool for sharing and discovering world cultures. Additionally, we aim to provide a fun array of stickers for you to intersperse in your chats, thereby broadening our visual vocabulary and championing our differences as collective strengths.

How Does it Work?

Our Mojimix application is available for iPhone and iPad on the App Store, with an Android version on the way. The app offers a plethora of stickers that you can seamlessly integrate into your email or messaging applications. Every sticker pack is free.

If you have an idea for a new Mojimix sticker, we welcome your suggestions. Please navigate to the Stickers page and describe your idea in the comments section, including a description, geographical area, and an image if you have one.

Before any of it was drawn

Everything here starts on paper. This is our own storyboard for the Mojimix promo film: a smiley gets overwhelmed by the noise on someone's phone in an airport, climbs out, reads the departures board, and goes to see the world for himself. Six of the eighteen frames, exactly as they were drawn.

  1. Pencil storyboard frame: an aircraft climbing past an airport window, seats in the foreground

Opening shot inside an airport. Aeroplanes taking off, airport chatter.

  2. Pencil storyboard frame: close-up of a phone screen, a round smiley face among message bubbles looking alarmed

Close-up of the phone. Smiley is in the middle of the noise and chatter, and he looks stressed.

  3. Pencil storyboard frame: the smiley face climbing out of the phone screen, an arrow showing the direction

Smiley jumps out of the phone.

  4. Pencil storyboard frame: a departures board reading Istanbul, Brussels, Mexico, Doha, Rimini and Amsterdam, with the smiley face looking at it

Smiley turns towards the departure board. Istanbul, Brussels, Mexico, Doha, Rimini, Amsterdam.

  5. Pencil storyboard frame: the smiley face clinging to the tail of an airliner in flight

    Smiley, attached to an aeroplane.

  6. Pencil storyboard frame: a world map with a dotted flight path and the word Mojimix written beside a destination

The plane moves on, and the sequence repeats with a new place — and a new set of stickers.

Those frames became the film on our home page. The stickers start the same way — a pencil sketch first, checked against the people whose culture it belongs to, then drawn properly. See where they end up.
